Free Clinic Helpers
Free Clinic Helpers support the flow of Bright Smiles free clinic events. This role is very important because helpers guide patients, support volunteers, move supplies, answer basic questions, and help the clinic stay organized.

Free Clinic Helpers may help with:
Greeting patients and volunteers
Helping patients find the correct area
Supporting check-in
Helping with forms or wristbands
Walking patients from one area to another
Delivering supplies to clinical areas
Helping manage lines
Keeping the event space clean
Supporting dentists, assistants, runners, and team leads
Helping with setup and cleanup

Confirm the clinic date, time, and location.
Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.
Arrive on time or early.
Review any clinic instructions sent before the event.
Be ready to stand, walk, and help in different areas.
Bring water if needed.
Do not bring valuables unless necessary.

Check in with the volunteer lead.
Get your assigned role or station.
Ask who you report to during the event.
Learn where the main areas are, such as check-in, waiting area, treatment area, supply area, bathrooms, and exits.
Ask what patients should do if they have questions.

Be kind, calm, and helpful.
Speak clearly and respectfully.
Help patients move to the correct area.
Do not give dental advice.
Do not promise treatment.
Do not discuss private patient information.
Ask a team lead if you are unsure.
Keep walkways clear.
Help keep the event moving.
Stay at your assigned station unless asked to move.
Communicate issues quickly to the volunteer lead.
